Objectives
Thanks to the Erasmus+ Project “T.A.L.E. – Teaching through Alternative Learning Environments” No. 2024-2-IT02-KA210-SCH-000295450, the following objectives are intended to be achieved:
The general objective of the “T.A.L.E.” project is to provide teachers with innovative and inclusive methodologies based on Gamification and Digital Storytelling, in order to effectively respond to the educational needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
In line with the project’s vertical priority, “Addressing learning disadvantage, early school leaving and low proficiency in basic skills,” the project aims to promote an inclusive approach to education, consistent with the EU principle of “Leaving no one behind.”
With regard to the Erasmus+ horizontal priority “Inclusion and diversity across all fields of education, training, youth and sport,” the T.A.L.E. project aims to provide a Methodological Toolkit for teachers, supporting the development of skills in designing learning pathways based on Gamification and Digital Storytelling. The final goal is to foster the creation of an inclusive learning environment that promotes equal access to education opportunities.
The project includes the implementation of two main activities:
- Creation of a Methodological Toolkit:
A key element for directly involving teachers and schools, providing new knowledge and tools related to teaching students with SEN and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), while developing a broader shared interest among partners and a deeper understanding of the project’s specific objectives. - Toolkit Experimentation:
Partners will also benefit from the project in terms of external visibility, strengthening their role as institutions strongly committed to innovative teaching methods for SEN and SLD students. Students will also benefit during this phase, as they—together with representatives from each partner organization—will have the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with representatives and students from the other partner countries.
Expected Results
In addition to the three project meetings, one in each partner country, attended by the project teams, we expect:
- Development of a Methodological Toolkit for Teachers – Based on the analysis of best practices carried out together with the partners, Cuore will provide its expertise in the field of education to collect a set of methodologies that will form the Toolkit. Partner schools will also contribute to the development of the Toolkit by providing input regarding the characteristics of the final target groups and the school institutions. In this phase, the primary beneficiaries are teachers, with at least 8 teachers involved from each partner school.
- Teacher Training and Co-design of Multimedia Products – In this training and co-creation phase, Cuore will train the partner organizations, which will in turn train their teachers. Therefore, the direct target group of the training activities will be teachers. During this phase, teachers will create multimedia products through a co-design process with the partners.
- Toolkit Experimentation – This represents the practical implementation and testing phase of the project. Groups composed of teachers and students—at least 12 students from each partner school—will participate in this activity. The target group consists of teachers and students, who are the main beneficiaries of the project results. Some small groups will also participate in a short-term mobility activity.
